Washington/Wabash ‘L’ Station

If arriving by air, CTA is the budget-friendly route: Blue Line from O’Hare to downtown is typically 40–45 minutes; Orange Line from Midway is typically 20–25 minutes. Note State/Lake station is closed for reconstruction, so Washington/Wabash or Clark/Lake are better downtown targets. Millennium Park

Art Institute of Chicago

Plan about 1.5–2 hours for highlights rather than trying to see everything. Public hours are generally 11–5, with Thursday evening hours, and it is closed Tuesday—adjust if needed. Chicago Riverwalk

Keep lunch flexible at a Riverwalk spot such as City Winery, Tiny Tapp, or another seasonal venue, then walk east/west along the water for architecture views. It is a good buffer before the cruise.
